Extraordinary Opportunity


Our Internship Placement Programme is an opportunity for UK and International students to undertake work experience during or after their studies at University. Applicants must be currently studying towards or recently completed their degree (within the last two years). We are looking for an Intern to join our team for a period of 6 months from September 2019.

We want you to get the most out of your time at Bentley and when you start you will sit down with your placement manager and discuss your objectives - both business and personal. You will then have a set of deliverables, which will really challenge and stretch you, so at the end of the internship you will have developed professionally and personally.


Extraordinary Team


Our Product Planning Team is at the heart of the business managing the strategic development and maintenance of the Bentley product cycle plan. The team manages key meetings to report on vehicle project delivery and associated strategies including understanding the global competitor landscape, legislative requirements and fleet CO2 emission regulations. The team works cross functionally to support the aims of the Business with emphasis on quality and process.


Reporting to our Product Planning Manager, your main Objectives and Responsibilities will be as follows:


  • Support the Product Planning Team to deliver continuous improvement projects/goals
  • Manage maintenance, continuous improvement, calculation and reporting of CO2 scenarios via existing tool and process
  • Support Product Planning activities: assist with presentations, data collation & analysis and meeting management
  • Support Product Planning maintenance and improvement of Product Emergence Process (PEP) and Business processes
  • Provide regular translation service (German – English – German) to support Product Management activities
  • Assist with in the interaction with partners from elsewhere within the VW Group


Extraordinary Person


We know that everyone and every role is important in our ongoing success. We are looking for an extraordinary person who is studying for or have completed a degree in a related subject within the last 2 years and are on target to achieve or achieved a 2:1 or above.

We understand that you may have limited work experience but you should have well-developed problem solving and analytical skills, possess good interpersonal skills, initiative and the enthusiasm to achieve. Quality in our business is top priority and we need individuals who can demonstrate a high focus on quality and a right first time attitude.


Skills and experience required:


  • Problem – solving and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Particularly Excel. Knowledge of macros and VBA of advantage
  • Good language skills (German and English)


Specific technical knowledge or qualifications required:


  • Minimum of B2 level against the European framework of English and German

Salary: The salary for this role is based on the UK national minimum wage rate.
